The success of the recent Boise Centre Curb Hunger Food Drive will provide 847 meals to individuals and families in need here in the Treasure Valley. This year 1,106 pounds of food was collected during the two day event held December 6 and 7.
“I want to thank the community for their great support of this year’s program,” said Pat Rice, Executive Director of Boise Centre. “Our staff worked hard again this year and we were all excited to see the response from the community. We hope to improve on that number next year for the Idaho Foodbank.”
The Curb Hunger Food Drive was designed to make it very easy for Treasure Valley residents to drop off donations in two separate, convenient locations at Boise Centre for curbside donations.
“This number is a significant increase over last year’s collection of 785 pounds. It will make a big difference to many people during this time of year,” said Sharon Stonehocker, Idaho Food Bank Events Coordinator. “We really appreciate the hard work and effort from everyone at Boise Centre to help the Idaho Foodbank.”
